History - Adjunct Faculty

About the role

The College is seeking adjunct faculty to teach face-to-face and remote online survey courses in History, such as Western Civilization, U.S. History, and African American History.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver course instruction, follow common course outlines and policies, utilize the CCBC learning management system, grade, critique, and evaluate student work, provide timely feedback to students, keep and submit accurate classroom records
• Communicate with the discipline coordinator, attend required training sessions, and attend professional development and departmental meetings
• Mentor students and contribute to the success of the history program
• Support the community college philosophy through commitment to the success of students with diverse goals, backgrounds and learning styles
• Commitment to the mission of the community college
• Maintain currency in field(s) through professional development and scholarly activities

Requirements

• Master’s degree in History or a related field
• Prior teaching experience preferred

Qualifications

Preference will be given to applicants who present evidence of excellence in teaching.
