Histology Technician

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented professional to join our fast-paced laboratory at a nationally recognized Magnet-designated, Teaching, Level III Trauma, Short-Term Acute Care Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Tissue Processing
• Histology Cassette Handling
• Automated and Manual Microtome Operation
• Cryostat Operation
• Precision Microtomy
• Section Cutting (GI, Large, Small, Hard, Fatty)
• Embedding Techniques (GI, Large, Small, Hard, Fatty)
• Staining (H&E)

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in the field
• ASCP Histotechnician (HT) Certification required
• Pending state license accepted, if applicable
• BLS certification not required

Qualifications

• First-time travelers are not accepted
• Candidates living within a 100-mile radius of the facility are not eligible
• Requested Time Off (RTO) limited to 5 days or fewer

Skills

• Experience with Epic electronic medical records
• Experience working in high-volume laboratory settings

Benefits

• No floating within the facility or to sister facilities is required
• Guaranteed hours are subject to client policy
• The facility reserves the right to cancel up to three shifts during the assignment without penalty
