Job Title: Histology Technician III

Location: Mill Creek Pathology Lab

Typical Schedule: Mondays – Fridays, 5:30am – 2:00pm

Wage Range: $28.00 - 35.00 hourly (Pay is dependent upon a combination of multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, transferable skills, business needs, and geographic market availability)

Qualifications

• HT or HTL (ASCP) certified or
• HT or HTL eligible – bachelor’s degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical, or biological science
• Frozen section experience preferred, but not required

Duties

• Accession specimens for grossing
• Prepare skin tissue specimens for microscopic examination
• Process and embed samples
• Section paraffin-embedded samples
• Prepare reagents, solutions, control slides, and special stains
• Accurately label tissue samples and slides
• Other duties as assigned, including performing routine maintenance and cleaning, filing slides and blocks
