Histology Supervisor - Lab Services - Kelsey Seybold Clinic
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee daily histology operations. Manage staffing, scheduling, and performance. Leads workflow optimization and improvement
- Performs embedding, microtomy, routine H&E staining, and slide preparation ensuring high-quality sections for diagnosis. Performs special stains and immunohistochemistry (IHC) procedures as directed
- Maintains QC documentation, reagent preparation, and ensures specimen integrity and compliance with standards
- Maintains equipment, workstations, and ensures proper laboratory safety and regulatory compliance. Perform routine cleaning
- Supports workflow coverage, cross-trains, and assists in other lab areas as needed
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GE
- 5+ years of histology experience
- HTL(ASCP) or HT (ASCP) - American Society for Clinical Pathology
- Proven solid attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proven solid manual dexterity, attention to detail, and ability to work in a high-volume environment
- Proven solid leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Proven ability to work in high-volume environment and maintain turnaround times
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of formal histology training program or equivalent on-the-job training
- Supervisory experience
- QIHC (ASCP)
- Familiarity with medical terminology and LIS systems (e.g., Epic Beaker)
Pay and Benefits
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
The salary for this role will range from $72,800 - $130,000 annually based on full-time employment.
