About the role
A Histology Laboratory Assistant performs a variety of support functions within the histology laboratory to ensure efficient workflow and accurate specimen handling. Responsibilities include accessioning, slide and block management, staining support, and case coordination. The role ensures proper specimen identification, data entry, and distribution of materials to Pathologists while maintaining compliance with laboratory standards and procedures. This position supports overall laboratory operations and contributes to timely and accurate diagnostic processes.

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Proven solid attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proven solid manual dexterity, attention to detail, and ability to work in a high-volume environment
- Proven solid leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Proven ability to work in high-volume environment and maintain turnaround times
Qualifications
- Additional healthcare or laboratory training
- Certification in laboratory science or histotechnology
- Familiarity with medical terminology and LIS systems (e.g., Epic Beaker)
