Histology Laboratory Manager
Principle Responsibilities
- Oversees daily operational performance.
- Maintains optimal staffing.
- Maintains scheduling, time off approval and timecard sign-off.
- Hires and onboards new employees.
- Trains, orients and maintains competencies for employees.
- Performs performance management of employees, including performance reviews.
- Manages staff including scheduling, performance management and fostering employee engagement.
- Takes accountability and resolves next level escalation on customer service issues.
- Monitors financial, volume, and productivity data to meet targets.
- Develops and implements operations budget.
- Implements cost reduction opportunities when identified.
- Develops and maintains laboratory policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in medical technology or related field or HEW equivalency exam (pre 1988)
- Seven years of relevant experience
- Three to five years of laboratory experience
- Four to five years of progressive management accountability
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in medical technology or related field
- Licenses/Certifications: Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) certification by a recognized agency such as ASCP, AMT, or NCA in specialty area incumbent will be working in or related specialty certification such as Histotechnologist (HTL), or Cytotechnologist (CT) upon hire required

Light Work: Lifting weight up to 20 lbs. occasionally, up to 10 lbs. frequently

Pay Range: $46.42 to $64.22 per hour
The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience and education. Additional incentives may be available, including discretionary monetary bonuses, goal-based bonuses, and other financial incentives.
