Hiring Trauma Surgery PA | Night Shifts ONLY| McAllen, TX
About the role
This nights-only role offers competitive salary compensation and comprehensive benefits, allowing you to focus on high-acuity trauma care while working alongside a strong, experienced trauma surgical team.
Responsibilities
- Manage pre-operative and post-operative trauma patients in coordination with trauma surgeons
- Perform tertiary evaluations of trauma admissions and provide episodic or problem-oriented care under physician direction
- Assist with trauma quality performance improvement initiatives
- Conduct complex patient care procedures usually performed by trauma surgeons but delegated to PAs
- Assess patient complaints and deliver appropriate treatments
- Utilize advanced assessment skills to anticipate and communicate complex patient issues
- Order and interpret labs and diagnostic tests in collaboration with trauma surgeons
- Monitor treatment plans and update trauma surgeons with critical information
- Respond promptly to emergency trauma alerts
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- Certified Physician Assistant with appropriate trauma experience preferred
- Active or eligible Texas medical license or certification
- Trauma care experience highly desirable
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Passing scores on the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE)
