About the role

Via uses app-based technology to make transportation more efficient, reinventing shared rides to reduce congestion, lower emissions, and get passengers to their destinations efficiently. Working with SANDAG to provide an on‑demand ridesharing service, Via is looking for independent contractor Driver Partners who will use the Via Platform to connect with riders.

Responsibilities

• Provide shared rides using an efficient routing system.
• Use the Via Platform to connect with riders and deliver on‑demand service.
• Operate as an independent contractor, choosing when to log on and provide service with no minimum commitments.

Requirements

• Valid California driver’s license.
• Age 25 years or older.
• More than 1 year of driving history.
• Personal auto insurance policy.
• Lease and drive a vehicle from a vehicle leasing partner.
• Pass a background check, including criminal and motor vehicle record checks (SSN required).
• Complete a DOT pre‑engagement drug test and submit to ongoing DOT drug and alcohol testing as required under FTA rules.
