**Hiring Patient Safety Attendant Full-time/PRN Night Shift
About the role
The Patient Safety Attendant (PSA) role involves continuous observation and monitoring of high-risk patients, ensuring a safe and risk-free environment. This includes maintaining a direct line of sight with the patient at all times, facilitating communication between patients and nursing personnel, and assisting with basic activities of daily living.
Responsibilities
- Be present for the designated patient, observing behavior and communicating to de-escalate situations.
- Notify nursing personnel if the patient condition changes or requires assistance.
- Serve as a resource to assist PCT/MST and nursing staff with basic functions.
- Ensure the patient environment is free of obstacles and minimizes risk of falls and self-harm.
- Assist with basic activities of daily living.
- Accompany patient during transportation, testing, and procedures.
- Maintain a safe, risk-free patient environment using fall prevention protocols and infection control measures.
- Create clear, accurate documentation on patient status and activity.
- Participate in hospital or departmental performance improvement activities.
- Restock non-medicinal patient room supplies as needed.
Requirements
- BLS/CPR certification within 90 days of start date.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills to provide calm verbal feedback, re-direct behavior, and reinforce safety.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Minimal supervision required.
- Demonstrated knowledge/experience of growth and development, and ability to interact and care for specific patient populations.
- Previous experience in health care field preferred.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or Certificate.
- Monday- Sunday, alternating weekends and holidays required.
- Day Shift: 7 am- 7:30 pm
- Night Shift: 7 pm- 7:30 am
- Full-time is three shifts/week, requiring four days per week of availability.

Schedule
Alternating weekends and holidays, with options for Day Shift (7 am- 7:30 pm) and Night Shift (7 pm- 7:30 am).
