About the Role

The Multi-Skilled Technician is an experienced healthcare worker who provides both patient care and administrative support in the Operating Room. MSTs in the OR have all of the responsibilities of the OR Tech, including turning over rooms, holding for prep, stocking supplies, and setting up equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the safe and efficient movement of patients between departments, ensuring comfort and documentation (Patient Transport).
• Manage and deliver ICU and inpatient beds as needed, following safety protocols.
• Ensure accurate and timely delivery of oncology case carts with necessary supplies.
• Collect and transport specimens and cultures while maintaining sample integrity.
• Retrieve and distribute medical supplies from central storage to various departments.
• Transport blood products to required departments, adhering to handling guidelines.

Requirements

Require one of the following:

• Florida licensure as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Paramedic, or a military Hospital Corpsman, Combat Medic Specialist, or Aerospace Medical Service Specialist; or National licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT); which must be maintained active during employment.
• Nursing students who are eligible for CNA exam must:
  • Currently be enrolled in an accredited school of Nursing (RN/LPN).
  • Have completed the first semester of clinical for ASN/BSN degree or completion of first trimester for LPN.
  • Cannot be currently licensed in the U.S. as a RN or LPN.
• Patient Care Technician (PCT) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certification: Provide certification of successful completion of a Florida State Board-approved program and successfully obtain a Florida CNA license within 120 days of graduation.

Employees hired without the above licensure and/or by years of experience only prior to 11/11/19 are grandfathered in and will have the option of obtaining the stipulated licensure.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or Certificate (required).
• Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification (required).

Pay

Hourly rate is determined by years of experience and internal equity within the organization. Minimum starting rate is $20.50, with a maximum of $28.90.

Schedule

Full-time: Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM–11:00 PM (14:30–23:00), 2nd shift. Training for this role is required on the 1st shift (Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM / 07:00–15:30) for 10–12 weeks.
