HireAbility Career Training and Education Coach - Temporary

HireAbility Vermont is recruiting for a Career Training and Education Coach to join our team in Middlebury. This role provides time-limited, on-site support for participants with disabilities in education/training settings and/or job sites. Support may be offered prior to, during, or after a participant's work schedule.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, one-to-one support at job sites to deliver hands-on job training using a place, train, fade model until the participant becomes fully independent.
• Conduct periodic check-ins with participants and/or supervisors after the participant has stabilized in their role.
• Offer tutoring or coaching at workshops, training programs, or classes to foster independence and success.
• Assist with college or training program tours and connect participants to supports such as peer mentoring groups, study groups, or natural supports.
• Help develop and practice study skills and habits.
• Support pre-vocational skills, such as preparing for driving permit tests, CDL exams, or other independent living skills to aid employment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six (6) months or more of work or volunteer experience in human services, customer service, or a related field requiring considerable personal interactions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals with disabilities.

Schedule

• Work schedule varies based on the specific training needs of participants.
• Availability to work occasional night or weekend hours may be requested.
• Frequent travel to education, training, or job sites is expected; mileage reimbursement is provided for out-of-office travel.

This is a temporary position with variable hours, not guaranteed to be full-time or 40 hours per week.
