Position Summary
The Cabot School District is seeking a motivated and family-focused individual to serve as a HIPPY Home-Based Educator (HBE). HIPPY supports parents as their child's first teacher through home-based early childhood education and family engagement.
Essential Tasks And Responsibilities
- Conduct weekly home visits with participating families, providing instruction, encouragement, guidance, and support to parents.
- Recruit, enroll, and retain eligible families in the HIPPY program.
- Maintain required documentation and program data in COPA and other designated systems.
- Participate in group meetings, parent engagement activities, developmental screenings, evaluations, weekly staff meetings, and other program events.
- Represent the HIPPY program and Cabot School District in a professional manner while communicating family needs and concerns to the HIPPY Field Coordinator.
- Complete required training, professional development, and other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills And Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Successful completion of all required background checks is necessary.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license are required.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment are essential.
- Basic computer and technology proficiency, including the ability to learn required data systems, is required.
- The ability to build positive relationships with families from diverse backgrounds while encouraging and supporting parents as their child's first teacher is important.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and dependability is crucial.
- Experience working with children and families is preferred.
