About the role
Summary Based in Warsaw, IN, the HIP Operator works under the direction of the Production Manager to perform critical functions related to equipment operation in the Control Room. Responsibilities include starting and monitoring units, sampling gas during cycles, and completing documentation for delivery to the end customer.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently and carefully build and box the cycle, including loading/unloading customer parts onto, into, or out of the units, baskets, tubs, racks, or other containers as required.
- Independently operate, control, and monitor unit equipment as required and written in standard procedures on shop traveler and/or customer paperwork.
- Operate the equipment in the Control Room.
- Create and correct Load Diagrams.
- Update Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Database.
- Conduct gas analysis, using proper compressor usage, and when to save reclaimed gas, and where to save it.
- Determine which thermocouples to disregard and where to place thermocouples for optimal temperature readings.
- Determine what temperature to start venting cycles at, and how large a can/ring to use for loading parts.
- Follow the established work procedures and control measures (including the use of PPE where issued) and any applicable SHE rules.
- Respect all guards, barriers, and permits at all times.
- Co-operate in health screening and surveillance procedures as required.
- Immediately bring any unusual problem, irregularity, or concern to the supervisor or management.
- Ability to operate a forklift and crane.
- Practice and promote safety and good housekeeping.
- Perform other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
Qualifications
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
- This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements; candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holder.
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Prior experience with heat treatment operation and/or drinking/wastewater management.
- May be required to work overtime or any shifts, including weekends.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift operator certification.
Physical & Mental Demands
- Must be able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time in an industrial environment.
- Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
- Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform functions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.
- Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
- Able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
- Ability to hear in person and via phone.

Schedule
The hours for this role are 2nd shift, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM Monday-Friday.
Pay
The salary range for this position is $XX - $YY, depending on experience and qualifications.
