About the role

The HIM Rep II position is responsible for maintaining accurate medical records and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain medical records in accordance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards.
• Ensure timely and accurate documentation of patient encounters.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure completeness and accuracy of medical records.
• Perform quality assurance checks on medical records.
• Respond to requests for medical records from insurance companies and legal entities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Informatics or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in electronic health record systems.

Qualifications

• Current certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA).
• Experience with coding and classification systems such as ICD-10-CM/PCS.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
