Responsibilities
- Reviews, analyzes and performs hardware and software installation on web based applications.
- Buils and maintains all databases within the dictation/transcription software to support transcription house-wide. This includes maintaining a robust testing environment.
- Buils and manages the servers and the routing scripts for document distribution, including fax, email or print.
- Provides training and support to departments that utilize the hospital's transcription service. This includes the management tool, DVRs, iPhones, etc.
- Provides training and support to all physicians, related to both transcription services and Dragon Medical.
- Customizes templates to meet individual department and provider needs.
- Creates and maintains databases, network accounts and programs for specific department needs.
- Recommends modifications and improvements to existing systems.
- Acts as a liaison with transcription vendor.
- Makes notifications and assists providers with corrections to facilitate accurate interface into the EMR.
- Manages and tracks resident incentive payments.
- Manages and tracks departmental performance reports.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in a computer related field, or equivalency.
- Three years of experience working in a Health Information Department, or equivalency.
- Extensive knowledge of health information processes and HIPAA and other regulatory agencies.
- Course completion in Medical Terminology, Anatomy, Physiology, and Basic Coding.
Skills
- Knowledge of EHRs (Power chart and Epic), document tracking systems, and/or billing/coding systems.
- Ability to make independent decisions as to specific user needs and repair requirements.
- Ability to prioritize requests and be able to handle concerns of impatient or dissatisfied customers.
- Demonstrated ability to trouble shooting communication equipment with or without schematics, maintaining dictation input devices within specifications and regulations.
- Professional level communication and strong organization, problem solving, and prioritizing skills.
