About the role
We are one of the largest U.S. railroads transporting essential products and materials across 28 western states and 3 Canadian provinces. As a member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the efficient and safe movement of goods.
Responsibilities
- Operating company trucks, trailers, tractor trailers, and various material-handling equipment, such as forklifts, stackers, and delivery vehicles.
- Maintaining accurate driver logs as required by safety regulations.
- Ordering, receiving, stocking, dispersing, loading, and unloading materials, as well as maintaining necessary documentation.
- Daily work is conducted in a safety-sensitive environment where the working conditions can include diverse and extreme weather conditions, walking and performing work on uneven surfaces, working around loud noises, fumes, and heavy/moving machinery.
Requirements
- Able to work now and in the future without BNSF’s assistance (whether monetary, through sponsorship, or otherwise) in obtaining, maintaining, or extending employment authorization (including H-1B, STEM OPT/CPT, or TN nonimmigrant status).
- I am at least 21 years of age or will be by the anticipated start date listed in the job description.
- Possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with HAZMAT, combination vehicle and air brake endorsements, or ability to obtain one within 60 days of employment.
- Able to work the above shift/hours.
- Able to meet the above typing requirement.
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Able to visually distinguish colors - red, blue, green, yellow, and lunar (clear light).
- Able to differentiate between verbal and non-verbal sounds (signals, alarms, etc.) and discriminate (comprehend) verbal communication in the work environment.
- Able to learn to identify, interpret and use hand signals from near and far and visually judge the speed and distance of moving objects.
- Able to perform basic functions on a personal computer (PC).
- Able to use hands and hand tools to perform activities involving holding, grasping, turning, and pulling.
- Able to occasionally climb ladders and on/off equipment.
- Able to bend, walk, stand and sit for several hours with breaks.
- Follow safety policies and procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment required for the job in a safe manner.

Pay
Entry Rate approx. $327.85/day; Full Rate $327.85/day
Schedule
This is a full-time (40hrs/wk) position, subject to overtime and alternate shifts that may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
