Highway Technician 1/Highway Maintenance Worker 1 - PN: 20057132, 20058184, 20058186 - Lake County - Painesville

Permanent position; the selected candidate will be placed in the classification in which they meet minimum qualifications.

What You Will Do

• Serve the public and work to make the roads in Ohio safer
• Attend training to obtain CDL licensure (if not already a licensed CDL holder)
• Perform highway maintenance activities, including:
  • Flagging
  • Pothole patching
  • Repairing guardrails
  • Litter pickup
  • Mowing
• Perform snow and ice operations

Requirements

Highway Maintenance Worker 1

• Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition and subtraction
• Ability to read, write, and speak common English vocabulary
• Must obtain Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction

Highway Technician 1

• Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition, subtraction, decimals, percentages, and fractions
• Ability to read, write, and speak common English vocabulary
• 3 months of training or 3 months of experience in operation of basic equipment
• Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction

Pay

• Highway Maintenance Worker 1: $21.48 per hour
• Highway Technician 1: $22.29 per hour
