About the Role
DCS is a family-owned and operated business that values employees like family. Our team provides innovative, safe, and high-quality infrastructure and maintenance contracting services to State DOTs, railroads, and commercial/residential customers across the United States. As a Highway Sign Installer, you will install, repair, and maintain roadway signs and delineation devices on state and county routes under the direction of the crew lead.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and replace roadway signs, posts, and delineators.
- Operate hand and power tools, including drills, saws, ratchets, and chainsaws.
- Safely operate assigned flatbed trucks and equipment to transport materials to job sites.
- Construct and repair barricades and traffic control devices.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of tools, vehicles, and equipment.
- Maintain inventory of signs, posts, and related materials.
- Assist with emergency response efforts, including nights and weekends when required.
- Follow all safety procedures and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to obtain Traffic Control Certification.
- Willingness to learn highway sign installation, maintenance, and traffic control practices.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, trucks, and equipment.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work on uneven terrain for extended periods.
- Ability to work outdoors in hot, cold, wet, and noisy environments, including around active traffic.

Pay
Compensation range: $17–19/hour.
