Highway / Roadway Project Engineer
About the role
As GFT continues to grow and expand, we are seeking an emerging Highway/Roadway Project Engineer to support our Transportation group in our Kansas City, MO; St. Louis, MO; Witchita, KS; or Omaha, NE locations. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring a minimum of 3 days of onsite office attendance. Working on the roadway team at GFT offers the opportunity to engage in transformative projects that enhance transportation infrastructure and improve community connectivity. Responsibilities
- Perform engineering design tasks for roadway projects from concept development to final design, including construction support.
- Develop plans, specifications, cost estimates, reports, and prepare final bid packages
- Establish working relationships and contact with client technical staff and project managers.
- Manage and mentor junior engineers on project assignments.
- Attend internal and external meetings with the team.
- Coordinate design activities and meetings between design staff, subconsultants, and client managers.
- Coordinate the planning, staffing, scheduling, budget management, quality control, of subconsultants and internal technical and support staff.
