Highway Project Engineer CM

Responsibilities

• Developing roadway, trail and sidewalk designs
• Intersection design and layout including roundabouts and traffic signals
• Checking design calculations prepared by others
• Preparation of construction contract documents
• Project coordination, report writing and estimating
• Direct coordination with clients

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program or an approved equivalent
• Professional Engineering (P.E.) licensure required
• 4 years of experience in a similar engineering role required
• Proficiency with Microstation, Inroads and AutoTurn
• Working knowledge of the NYSDOT Highway Design Manual
• Active member of a professional practice organization

Qualifications

• Experience in a variety of engineering roles
• Ability to plan, schedule, and conduct detailed phases of engineering work
• Knowledge of standard technology and procedures
• Ability to anticipate project objectives and complete intermediate and complex engineering assignments
• Experience in cost and quantity estimating
• Experience in attending project meetings and presenting aspects of engineering assignments
• Experience in report writing for basic and intermediate projects
• Experience in providing delegation and supervision of Engineer III’s and Technicians
• Experience in coordinating for multi-discipline projects
• Experience in preparing basic proposals including scope of work, hours planning, and estimate of fees
• Experience in managing invoices and tracking project progress relative to budget expenditures

Pay

• Albany, NY, Syracuse, NY: $44/hour – $60/hour
• Westchester – White Plains, NY: $47/hour – $69/hour
