About the role
STV is growing! We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Highway Project Engineer to join our Transportation team in Pennsylvania.
Responsibilities
- Develop and refine 3D models, alignments, profiles, corridors, and cross-sections for transportation projects
- Mentor and guide junior engineers in highway geometry and modeling software best practices
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, surveyors, planners, and project managers
- Prepare detailed roadway, highway, and transit infrastructure plans and technical specifications
- Conduct design reviews, constructability analyses, and quality control checks
- Assist with project reports, client presentations, and communications
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or related field (Master’s a plus)
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Pennsylvania
- Minimum 6 years of transportation engineering experience with a strong focus on roadway and geometric design
- Strong proficiency in MicroStation InRoads (OpenRoads Designer experience preferred)
- Experience with signing, pavement markings, and traffic control plans
- Familiarity with PennDOT, AASHTO, and FHWA design standards
- Experience with traffic signals and ITS (a plus)
- Stormwater management and Erosion & Sedimentation Control design/permitting experience (a plus)
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Professional society involvement (a plus)
