What You'll Do
- Install all RF mobile & portable electronic equipment, various electronic equipment, various wiring harnesses, various storage boxes, trays, consoles &/or cages into Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS) staff vehicles, Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) vehicles, &/or vehicles for other state agencies, which may contain secured ammunition &/or firearms.
- Perform final inspection of all items listed above & on all electronic equipment installed in vehicles for accuracy & completeness.
- Test, repair, &/or refurbish electronic equipment & various wiring harnesses;
- Repair electronic testing equipment used for monitoring & adjusting.
- Monitor & correct any frequency modulations & power output according to Federal Communications Commission (FCC) rules & regulations.
- Log repairs performed & adjustments to equipment per FCC guidelines.
Qualifications
- 18 mos. exp. in installation, repair & workings of mobile communication equipment or vehicular electronics; for positions requiring travel, must possess & maintain valid driver’s license per Section 4507.02 (A)(1) of Revised Code.
- Or completion of 2 yr. technical program in electronics or radio communications; for positions requiring travel, must possess & maintain valid driver’s license per Section 4507.02 (A)(1) of Revised Code.
- Or completion of associate core program in electronic engineering; for positions requiring travel, must possess & maintain valid driver’s license per Section 4507.02 (A)(1) of Revised Code.
- Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

Work Hours: 7:00am – 3:00pm; On call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
