About the role

We are seeking full-time Highway Maintenance Technicians to perform maintenance operations in the Buda, Texas area, specifically on IH35. This position involves a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance, including debris removal, sign and guardrail repair, concrete repair, and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform highway maintenance tasks such as debris removal, sign and guardrail repair, and concrete repair
• Adhere to federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures
• Operate hand/power tools and equipment safely
• Work under varying environmental and weather conditions
• Perform strenuous manual labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly while twisting
• Adjust to changing work schedules, including night and weekend work as needed
• Maintain proper safety equipment for each job

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• 0-2 years of construction labor experience (commercial, industrial, residential, roadway, heavy civil, warehouse, etc.)
• Ability to carry out simple arithmetic functions
• Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
• Ability to use a smartphone and applications
• Must pass criminal background check, MVR, and controlled substance/drug testing
• Clean driving record is essential

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in guardrail installation and repair
• Roadway or tollway maintenance experience
• Concrete form work, concrete placement, and repairs
• Experience operating equipment such as Wheel Loader, Skidsteer, Forklift, Asphalt Roller, etc.
• MOT Certifications (traffic control)
• CDL A License

Pay

• Day shift starting rate: $18.50/hr (no prior highway maintenance experience)
• Guardrail experience starting rate: $19.50/hr
• Night shift starting rate: $19.50/hr

Schedule

• Full time; Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm
• Some night and weekend work may be required
• Must be available to work during snow and ice events
• On-call schedule required
