About the role

We are seeking full-time Skilled Highway Maintenance Technicians to join our Bridge Crew, performing advanced maintenance operations primarily in Texas. This night-shift position is based in the San Antonio, TX area and involves a variety of tasks related to highway bridge repair, concrete repair, and bridge joint maintenance while adhering to federal, state, and local regulations.

Travel is required approximately 75% of the time, with overnight stays. The first 6 months are scheduled in Central Texas, though this location is not guaranteed to remain in San Antonio.

Responsibilities

  • Concrete bridge repair and structure repair
  • Armor, finger joint repair, and replacement
  • Repair and installation of various joint products (polymer nosing, asphalt plug, silicone)
  • Operation of equipment including saws, jack hammers, chipping hammers, rivet busters, hot pour rubber machines, and crack sealers
  • Sand blasting and welding
  • Knowledge and implementation of traffic control devices and lane closures
  • Steel bridge repair
  • Use of shovels, weed trimming machinery, brooms, and various small hand tools
  • Air compressor operations
  • Guardrail and sign maintenance
  • Concrete forming and repair
  • Operation of heavy machinery (Wheel Loader, Skidsteer, Fork Lift, Asphalt Roller, etc.)

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of related experience in construction or roadway maintenance
  • Valid Driver’s License (Class A is a plus)
  • Clean driving record
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to pass criminal background check, MVR, and controlled substance/drug testing
  • Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
  • Basic arithmetic skills
  • Ability to maintain proper safety equipment for each job
  • Adaptability to the latest technology, including smartphones and applications
  • Ability to adjust to changing work schedules and work safely under varying environmental and weather conditions
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Proficiency in operating hand and power tools

MOT (Traffic control certifications/courses) and bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are preferred but not required.

Schedule

Full-time, night shift. Must be available to work during weather events such as snow, ice, and floods.
