Highway Maintenance Technician

About the role

We are seeking full-time Maintenance Technicians to perform maintenance operations in the Davie, FL area. This position involves a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance while adhering to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team performing highway maintenance tasks, including but not limited to:
  • Road patrol
  • Lighting repair
  • Sign repair
  • Guardrail repair
  • Heavy equipment operations
  • Licensed herbicide application
  • Incident response

Requirements

• Maintain company standards for background checks (criminal record, driving record, and controlled substance/drug testing)
• Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
• Ability to carry out simple arithmetic functions
• Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
• Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
• Proficiency in using smartphones and applications
• Ability to adjust to changing work schedules
• Capability to work safely under varying environmental and weather conditions
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
• Ability to operate hand/power tools
• Clean driving record
• Must pass criminal background check

Preferred Experience

• Roadway maintenance or construction experience
• MOT Certifications

Pay

$18.00/hour, depending on experience.

Schedule

Full-time, night shift, Monday through Friday. Must be flexible and available to work on-call and days when necessary.
