Highway Design Engineer

About the role

Kleinfelder, a Forbes' Top Employer for Engineers in North America, seeks a highway design engineer to join our Delaware team. This position involves performing engineering tasks, preparing documents for advertisement and construction, and assisting with construction cost estimates. The role is based in either Dover or New Castle, DE.

Responsibilities

• Apply relevant design criteria, standards, and processes to engineering tasks
• Work on multiple design projects
• Prepare engineering documents for advertisement and construction
• Assist in the preparation of construction cost estimates

Requirements

• B.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
• EIT certification preferred
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MicroStation, Inroads or Geopak
• Experience with State Agency Transportation Departments

Qualifications

• 0 to 3 years of design experience in the highway transportation field
• Relevant internship experience or college coursework may be considered

Schedule

This is an in-office position based in Dover or New Castle, DE.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $75,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

Skills

Desired skills include proficiency in Microsoft Office, MicroStation, Inroads or Geopak, and experience with State Agency Transportation Departments.
