Higher Education Adjunct Faculty 2026-2027

Position Summary

The Morgridge College of Education is seeking adjunct instructors for the 2026-2027 academic year to teach graduate courses in the Higher Education program. Opportunities may vary and are dependent on department needs.

Essential Functions

  • Teach in person or online in the format and schedule for the course (depending on course)

  • Create or adapt existing courses, including learning outcomes, support materials, and course calendars

  • Maintain course Canvas container and meet with students as needed

  • Assign papers, exams, and other deliverables aligned with program learning outcomes

  • Grade assignments within two weeks and ensure equitable and accessible course content

  • Support student academic success through connecting them with campus resources and working with faculty advisors and/or the department chair

  • Participate in onboarding and professional development opportunities provided by the department, college, and/or university

  • Engage in master's ePortfolios, dissertations of practice, or comprehensive exams if needed and as applicable

Required Qualifications

  • Terminal degree

  • Relevant knowledge of course content

  • Previous teaching experience

  • Professional experience in postsecondary settings and contexts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Successful teaching/facilitation experience with adults at the graduate level

Course Rate

$1,290 per credit hour taught
