High Speed Thermo Operator - 3rd Shift

About the Role

This position is responsible for the operation and quality of bubble wrap and other similar products produced by the forming machines on 3rd shift in Middletown, OH.

Responsibilities

• Understand machine mechanics, including unwind, knives, rollers, web, etc.
• Perform job setup or changeover on machine with no supervision following standard work procedures.
• Perform necessary machine power/startup, setup, changeovers, shift turnovers, and power down procedures with supervision or assistance.
• Measure and test product; identify defects.
• Read and comprehend work orders; produce product to work order specifications, including:
  • Dimensions
  • Box quantities
  • Pallet configurations
  • Label information
  • Placard information
  • Run speed (bags/rolls/lbs./pks. per hour)
  • Roll size
  • Perforation location, performance, and size
• Print labels for finished goods and ensure proper placement; complete and apply roll tags.
• Maintain budgeted scrap levels.
• Complete Quality check sheet after every roll/per required frequency (90% compliance required).
• Complete production data entry consistently and accurately into applicable computer systems.
• Maintain required inventory levels for pull system; stage rolls in required locations.
• Familiar with downstream equipment; close work orders (remove job packets, placard for partials, remove materials).
• Identify E-stops and safety-sensitive areas; assist in Maintenance PMs.
• Maintain accurate and updated material boards.
• Perform housekeeping per 5S Handoff Audits:
  • Workbenches clean and organized
  • Scrap removed
  • Trash dumped
  • Floors swept
  • QA samples neatly placed in boxes
  • Full QA boxes removed and tagged properly
  • Excess or unused materials removed
• Practice safe behavior with regards to equipment and task.
• Resolve technical problems independently or with the assistance of a Lead.
• Understand RM and FG part numbers; count inventory.
• Able to run at least one machine in the forming group of machines.
• Other duties, as assigned.
