About the role
The Springfield Public Schools seeks a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Vocational Technical Education Framework Instructor. This position is responsible for teaching vocational technical education courses, ensuring that students develop the knowledge and skills necessary to become mature, responsible, and productive citizens.
Responsibilities
- Plans and implements a curriculum that addresses the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
- Creates a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and academic success.
- Assesses student progress regularly and provides feedback to students and parents.
- Maintains accurate records and follows safety protocols to ensure the well-being of students, staff, and property.
- Participates in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on industry trends.
- Collaborates with colleagues to develop and implement effective classroom management strategies.
- Supports students with special needs and ensures compliance with district policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Possession of a current Massachusetts Journeyman Electrician license.
- Possession of a current Massachusetts Master Electrical license.
Qualifications
- Strong background in vocational technical education.
- Experience in creating engaging and effective lesson plans.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Knowledge of safety standards and practices.
- Proficiency in using technology to enhance teaching and learning.
