About the role

Teach the curriculum of Independent School District 196. Carry out responsibilities as defined by the master contract and the building principal. Maintain good communication and cooperation with staff and parents.

District 196 is a Minnesota public school district serving more than 29,000 students and 160,000 residents in Rosemount, Apple Valley, Eagan, Burnsville, Coates, Empire, Inver Grove Heights, Lakeville, and Vermillion Township. The district operates 20 elementary schools, six middle schools, four high schools, an optional School of Environmental Studies for juniors and seniors, an Area Learning Center high school program, a K-12 special education school, and a special education program for young adults ages 18-22. Responsibilities

  • Teach high school Japanese curriculum
  • Carry out responsibilities as defined by the master contract
  • Carry out responsibilities as defined by the principal
  • Maintain good communication and cooperation with staff and parents

Requirements

  • Licensed by the state of Minnesota to teach high school Japanese
  • Strong general academic background
  • Ability to relate positively to students, staff, and community
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency working with a culturally, ethnically, racially, and socioeconomically diverse school community is preferred
