About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you'll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Cudahy, CA! Details: In-Person Tutoring in Cudahy, CASchedule: 15 hours per month; 3x a week for 1hr15minsRate is between $25 and $35 per hour Ideal Candidate: Experience tutoring high school students, particularly students with Autism or IEPsStrong background in high school English, literature, reading comprehension, and writingComfortable supporting World History and social studies courseworkStrong understanding of Algebra 2 and foundational high school math conceptsSkilled at breaking down complex academic material into clear, manageable stepsAble to support comprehension, information retention, and application across multiple content areasPatient, organized, and encouraging with a structured approach to instructionStrong lesson-planning and academic support skillsAble to adapt instruction to the student's current coursework and individual learning needsComfortable providing homework, assignment, and test preparation supportAble to incorporate student interests, such as music and guitar, to increase engagement Key Responsibilities: Provide individualized academic support across ELA, World History, and Algebra 2Support reading fluency, comprehension, vocabulary development, and analysis of literature and informational textsHelp the student identify key information, make connections, retain content, and apply what they have learnedProvide writing support focused on organization, grammar, language conventions, and written expressionReinforce World History concepts and support comprehension and retention of historical contentProvide Algebra 2 instruction, including foundational skills, mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and course-specific conceptsBreak down complex assignments and multi-step problems into manageable stepsProvide guided practice and reinforcement aligned with the student's current courseworkAssist with homework, projects, quizzes, tests, and other academic assignments as neededUse structured instruction, repetition, and comprehension checks to strengthen retentionIncorporate interests such as music, guitar, Metallica, and Slayer into lessons when appropriateMonitor progress and adjust instruction to address academic gaps and support continued successMaintain a supportive and encouraging learning environment focused on academic confidence and independence Why Tutor Me Education?
