High School Spanish Teacher

Troy School District is hiring a full-time Spanish teacher for immediate placement at the International Academy, a public IB World School in Troy, Michigan. The International Academy is consistently ranked among the top public high schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report, and delivers the IB Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme to a high-achieving student body.

About the role

This is a Troy School District teaching contract with an immediate start at the International Academy. The teaching assignment consists of MYP Spanish 9, MYP Spanish 10, and Spanish Language & Culture.

Responsibilities

• Teach MYP Spanish 9, MYP Spanish 10, and Spanish Language & Culture
• Plan and deliver instruction aligned to the IB MYP and DP frameworks
• Assess student work using IB criteria and provide meaningful feedback
• Collaborate with the world language department and the broader teaching staff
• Support the language growth and wellbeing of motivated, high-achieving students

Requirements

• A valid Michigan teaching certificate with a Spanish (FF) endorsement
• A bachelor's degree in Spanish, education, or a related field
• Native or near-native Spanish proficiency

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching in the IB Middle Years Programme, Diploma Programme, or another rigorous college-preparatory setting
• Familiarity with concept-based, criterion-referenced instruction
