About the role
The Partnerships to Uplift Communities (PUC) Schools is a network of public charter schools dedicated to increasing high school graduation, college entrance, and college graduation rates for underserved students in North-East Los Angeles and the North-East San Fernando Valley.
Responsibilities
- Foster a safe and nurturing learning environment
- Build professional knowledge
- Organize classroom systems/procedures and manage student behavior
- Establish an environment where students are excited about learning and preparing for college
- Develop and maintain Individualized Academic Tracking (IAT) plans
- Communicate with parents/guardians on a weekly basis
- Identify student areas for improvement and collaborate with the Inclusion Specialist
- Attend and participate in Academic Success Team, Parent/Teacher Advisory Council, and other school-based meetings
- Conduct both student and teacher-led parent conferences
- Implement disseminated leadership duties
- Participate in professional development training
- Track students' grades, attendance, and other relevant data
- Work collaboratively with the Principal and Assistant Principal
- Attend and participate in school-based meetings and activities
Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications: Possession of a valid Preliminary or Clear Single Subject or Multiple Subject Credential, University Internship Credential eligible, or qualification for a permit if the applicant does not possess a credential.
- Experience: Solid knowledge of the subject matter, including California State Standards and subject-specific frameworks and assessments.
- Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of diversity in society, proficiency with Microsoft Suite, excellent communication skills, ability to analyze student data, alignment with core PUC characteristics, flexibility, teamwork, multitasking, bilingualism in Spanish preferred.
