About the role
Teaches Chemistry at the high school level.
Responsibilities
- Develops and administers high school science curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
- Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to student learning.
- Conducts ongoing assessments of student learning, and modifies instructional methods to fit student's needs, including students with special needs.
- Accomplishes professional growth through continuing education, attendance at seminars, workshops, or professional meetings, or conducting research.
- Maintains accurate and complete records, grades, and reports for all student activities, achievement, and attendance as required by district procedures and state laws.
- Maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
- Collaborates with other high school staff members, especially within the science department, to evaluate and assess curriculum, and participates fully in all faculty meetings, and assigned committees.
Qualifications
Master's degree in Education or related field.
At least 2 years of teaching experience.
Experience working with students with special needs preferred.
Knowledge of current educational developments and practices.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
