About the role

Magen David Yeshivah is seeking a High School Principal to lead the school’s academic, student life, and operational functions. The ideal candidate will provide visionary leadership, foster a positive school culture, and build meaningful relationships with students, faculty, and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide visionary leadership for the High School, ensuring excellence in both General and Judaic Studies while advancing MDY’s mission, Torah values, and strategic priorities.
• Ensure the successful implementation of a rigorous, comprehensive dual-curriculum education that promotes academic excellence, creativity, intellectual curiosity, mastery of sacred texts and Hebrew language, and strong preparation for colleges, universities, and careers in a rapidly evolving global marketplace.
• Foster an environment in which students thrive academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually, nurturing their unique strengths and talents while promoting personal responsibility, Jewish identity, pride in heritage, community service, and a deep love for Torah, the Jewish people, and the State of Israel.
• Recruit, mentor, evaluate, and support a high-performing faculty and administrative team, cultivating a culture of continuous growth, collaboration, and instructional excellence.
• Serve as a trusted and accessible leader, building meaningful relationships with parents, community leaders, rabbis, alumni, and other stakeholders within the Sephardic Jewish community.
• Oversee the day-to-day operation of the High School, including student affairs, policies, scheduling, budgeting, compliance, and organizational effectiveness.
• Partner with school leadership to identify opportunities for growth, enhance educational programs, leverage best practices, and prepare the institution for future success.

• A student-centered approach to education administration;
• A proven record of establishing trust and respect within a community;
• A sense of humor and joy in working with teens, their families, their teachers, and a school community;
• Robust empathy and emotional intelligence paired with outstanding interpersonal, diplomatic, and community-building skills;
• Ability to handle sensitive, confidential situations and information with absolute discretion;
• Skills with change management;
• Ability to develop strong relationships while also maintaining appropriate professional boundaries and encourage the same in others;
• Excellent organizational skills and judgment; ability to prioritize work, manage time and multiple priorities, and meet deadlines;
• A history of creating effective working relationships with internal and external colleagues.

Pay

Salary starts at $400,000 and is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
