FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION OF UNIT

To help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development in becoming a better version of themselves academically and holistically.

Essential Functions

  • Develops and delivers engaging math instruction aligned with NYS standards.
  • Creates a supportive environment that builds students' confidence in mathematics.
  • Uses a variety of teaching methods to address different learning styles.
  • Affirms student understanding and modifies instruction accordingly.
  • Encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and application of math concepts.
  • Collaborates with colleagues to improve curriculum and instruction.

Qualifications

  • Certification/License: NYS Teacher Certification in Mathematics or equivalent preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor's in Mathematics, Education, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
  • Experience: Teaching experience in urban settings preferred.

The current salary range is $48,000 - $53,000; negotiable based on level of education, experience, and work history.
