Job Summary
Chesterton Academy of Annapolis seeks a talented and dynamic Math & Science teacher to join our faculty starting in the 2026-2027 academic year. Specific course assignments can align with education and experience, but may include Precalculus, Calculus, Biology, and Chemistry.
Responsibilities
- Active teaching of at least four courses in math and science (the traditional quadrivium) as part of the Chesterton Schools Network (CSN) curriculum.
- Teaching load is 18-22 class periods per week, or roughly 13-14 hours, with at least 2 hours a day of prep time.
- The headmaster will support your growth as a teacher through regular professional development, observation and feedback, and year-round faculty activities.
- As part of a math and science team, you will bring your expertise and collegial approach to supporting and encouraging colleagues.
- Full-time faculty responsibilities also include regular campus duties, such as monitoring lunch, study hall, or substituting for absent teachers: these are times of formation where your presence is formative.
- Faculty are spiritual leaders, participating in daily Mass and prayer with the entire student body, supporting the House system and activities, and assisting in spiritual retreats.
- Attending optional school activities, including sporting events, is highly encouraged and strengthens the community.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant subject area is required, ideally with teaching experience.
