High School Leader in Training at Miracle Ranch
About the role
High School Leaders in Training will support Camp Summer Staff who are responsible for the wellbeing of student campers who attend Miracle Ranch. They will learn skills to practice servant leadership, relationship building, and teamwork alongside Camp Summer Staff so each camper and guest can experience an unforgettable time and walk away changed.
Responsibilities
- Support Summer Camp Counseling Staff
- Camper Care: Assist Counseling Staff with the physical, emotional, and spiritual care of campers in their cabins.
- Spiritual Mentorship: Observe and support Counseling Staff as they lead small group cabin times, answer questions related to Christianity.
- Conduct yourself in a way that is consistent with the CRISTA Camps Statement of Faith.
- Recreation and Program: Assist in recreation and program areas as needed, such as games, skits, or activities.
- Guest Service: Assist with meal crews, housekeeping, and other guest service needs throughout the week.
- Community: Contribute to and participate in the Summer Staff community.
- Training: Participate in required training, orientation and safety sessions.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in a secondary education program appropriate for participation in a high school leadership training experience.
- Excellent customer service.
- Able to communicate clearly to others.
- Able to work collaboratively with all Camps staff and customers.
- This position is compensated via a program stipend; housing and meals are offered at Camps.
- Able to comply with program supervision, housing, and conduct requirements applicable to student training roles.
- Ability to pass background checks relating to DSHS Secretary’s List of Crimes and Negative Actions. (WAC 388-113).

- Is a committed Christian who is dedicated to continued spiritual growth and development as evidenced through a growing personal walk with God (e.g. daily spiritual rhythms of prayer, fellowship, Bible study, etc.).
- Prayfully seeks God’s will in their own lives and in their ministry at CRISTA.
- Engages our ministry including staff and colleagues through prayer, participation in spiritual practices, leading devotionals and other spiritual practices.
- Affirms, aligns with and supports CRISTA’s Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Statement (CCC).
- Conducts themselves in a manner which reflects well on CRISTA Ministries and aligns with its mission, vision, Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Commitment (CCC).

Benefits
- Housing and meals are provided on campus as part of the program.
- Participants are expected to reside only in assigned, supervised cabin/housing accommodations for the duration of each program week during designated program hours in accordance with program guidelines.
Pay
Between $200 and $350 stipend per week, depending on role and days worked. Plus room & board.
Schedule
High School Leaders in Training are required to remain on campus throughout the program week (Monday through Sunday afternoon) to fully participate in training, supervision, and community life. Off-campus departures during the week are not permitted except for pre-approved program needs or emergencies. Transportation for any approved off-campus departure must be arranged and authorized by program leadership.
