Season runs November 2026 through February 2027.
Requirements
- Valid Wyoming Coaching Permit with a Skiing endorsement (obtain via the Professional Teaching Standards Board); must be secured before the season begins.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification from an in-person, hands-on course (online courses are not accepted). Acceptable providers:
- American Red Cross
- American Heart Association (Heartsaver® program)
- National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Sport First Aid
- American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) Sport First Aid
- College or university coursework in First Aid/CPR
- Completion certificates for the following free online NFHS courses:
- Concussion
- Bullying, Hazing, and Inappropriate Behaviors
- Fingerprinting: four cards required (two for PTSB, two for TCSD). Can be completed at any sheriff’s office; fees vary. Teton County requires an appointment.
- U.S. and Wyoming Constitution requirement: satisfy via testing or college coursework covering U.S. History prior to 1865 and the U.S. Constitution. Graduates from a Wyoming community college or the University of Wyoming with a grade of “C” or higher meet this requirement. District can proctor exams by appointment; email wyoptsb@wyo.gov to schedule.
Compensation
Pay is prorated based on the portion of the season coached while properly permitted. Time spent coaching without a permit is unpaid volunteer work.
