About the role
The 32BJ Training Fund is seeking part-time Spanish High School Equivalency Preparation instructors for classes in the Bronx.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement lesson plans that are aligned to the program curriculum and incorporate the provided educational materials.
- Teach course content in Spanish using a student-centered teaching approach.
- Maintain and submit records of attendance.
- Maintain ongoing communication with supervisor.
- Participate in relevant professional development activities, as available.
Qualifications
- Fluency in Spanish and English.
- Bachelor's degree in education, liberal arts, or related field.
- Experience teaching adult basic academic skills (math, writing, reading) in a formal educational setting.
- Familiarity with student-centered teaching in a multi-level class.
- Ability to use digital platforms to instruct, communicate, and record program data.
Covid-19 Considerations
Record of completed COVID-19 vaccine or confirmed medical/religious exemption from the Training Fund.
Compensation
$50 per teaching hour. Paid preparation time. Paid in-house training, coaching, and professional development opportunities.
