About the role
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated educator to join our team as a High School Mathematics Teacher. This role is essential in fostering a positive learning environment and delivering high-quality instruction to students in grades 9-12. The successful candidate will be passionate about mathematics, committed to student success, and eager to contribute to our school community.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective mathematics lessons aligned with state standards and curriculum guidelines.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students, including those with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans.
- Utilize technology and innovative teaching strategies to enhance student learning and engagement.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administrators to support student achievement and well-being.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in mathematics education.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavior.
- Supervise and support students during classroom activities, field trips, and other school-related events.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth.
Requirements
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate with a Mathematics (EX) endorsement or willingness to obtain one.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Demonstrated experience teaching mathematics at the high school level (student teaching or professional experience).
- Strong knowledge of high school mathematics content, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus.
- Familiarity with Michigan’s academic standards and assessment requirements.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
