Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Deliver standards-aligned ELA instruction in accordance with Florida B.E.S.T. Standards
- Develop and implement lesson plans that promote critical thinking, writing, and text analysis
- Audit and monitor student progress using data to guide instruction and interventions
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Foster a structured, respectful, and academically rigorous classroom environment
- Provide timely feedback on student work, including essays and written assignments
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress
- Collaborate with department members, instructional coaches, and school leadership
- Participate in professional development, school meetings, and school-wide initiatives
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Valid Florida Certification in English (6–12) or Secondary ELA
- Strong knowledge of secondary literacy instruction and curriculum standards
- Effective classroom management and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of high school teaching experience
- ESOL Endorsement
- Reading Endorsement
- Experience with advanced coursework (Honors, AP, or dual enrollment)
Work Schedule
In-person position, Monday through Friday 8-hour shift
