High School Cheerleading Assistant Coach

Key Responsibilities

• Supportive Role: Assist the Head Cheerleading Coach in all aspects of planning and organizing cheerleading practices, performances, and events.
• Skill Development: Work with cheerleaders to improve their skills in stunts, jumps, tumbling, and dance. Provide individualized coaching and feedback to help cheerleaders enhance their performance.
• Team Spirit and Sportsmanship: Foster a positive team culture that promotes teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship. Encourage cheerleaders to demonstrate school spirit and support for other athletic teams.
• Performance Preparation: Assist in preparing cheerleaders for performances, pep rallies, and competitions. Ensure that cheerleaders are adequately prepared and organized for upcoming events.
• Safety and Risk Management: Ensure the safety of cheerleaders during practices and performances by implementing proper techniques and spotting procedures. Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols established by the school and governing cheerleading organizations.
• Communication: Communicate effectively with cheerleaders, parents, school staff, and the athletics department. Provide regular updates on practice schedules, events, and other pertinent information.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a cheerleader or cheerleading coach is preferred.
• Knowledge of cheerleading techniques, stunts, and choreography.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills.
• Positive attitude and commitment to the development of studentathletes.
