About the role
Kamehameha Schools, Hawaii Campus is seeking an experienced High School Biology Teacher for a 2-year Defined Term position starting at the beginning of the 26-27 SY, or as soon as possible. This position is eligible for Medical/Rx/Vision benefits and a matching 401k.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate academic competence in Biology and develop interdisciplinary curriculum.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology or related field.
- 3+ years of experience teaching Biology at the High School level.
- Cultural competencies and ability to incorporate ‘ike Hawaii into teachings.
- Experience with Competency-Based Learning is a plus.
Qualifications
- Master’s or doctoral degree in Biology or related field.
- Knowledge of and ability to utilize current technology applications for classroom use.
- Recent teaching experience, coursework, or activity in primary area(s) of instruction.
- Previous experience teaching the age levels and subject area(s).
- Knowledge of and sensitivity to social justice issues, global issues, sustainability, Hawaiian language, history, culture, and Christian values.
Skills
- Knowledge of instructional methods that are age appropriate for assigned grade levels.
- Ability to develop positive relationships with students and families.
- Ability to differentiate and personalize instruction to meet varying student needs.
- Ability to manage small and large groups of students in various instructional environments.
- Effective communication skills with students, parents, counselors, and school administrators.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with students, colleagues, and school administrators.
- Organizational skills to meet varied deadlines.

Pay
$61,111.00 - $160,818.00 Annual Compensation
Schedule
Monday through Friday during normal school/work hours, with evening and weekend hours as needed.
