About the role
Opportunity Propel Schools is seeking an Assistant Varsity Track Coach for the 26-27 season starting this winter at Propel Andrew Street High School, Propel Braddock Hills High School, and Propel Montour High School.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the Varsity program with the head coach, athletic director, and other coaching staff
- Implementing off-season programs in accordance with WPIAL/PIAA regulations
- Attending all required PIAA preseason coaching meetings and mandatory coaching certification/trainings in compliance with PIAA regulations
- Displaying effective coaching skills and knowledge of rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport
- Maintaining high levels of personal organization and planning
- Communicating effectively and building strong relationships
- Participating in ongoing professional development
- Committing to the Propel Habits
Requirements
- Up-to-date TB Test
- Act 34 Criminal Clearance
- Act 114 FBI Clearance
- Act 151 Child Abuse Clearance
- Mandated Reporter Training
Qualifications
- Prior Varsity or Junior Varsity coaching experience
- Prior high school coaching experience
- USATF certification
- Experience as a head coach or assistant coach
- Playing experience
- Demonstrated ability to build a successful program starting at the varsity level

Benefits
The position includes a seasonal stipend of $2,000. The stipend will be prorated for coaches who begin after the official start of the season.

Schedule
The 2026-2027 Assistant Varsity Track Season is scheduled to begin in March and is anticipated to conclude in May, although the season may end earlier or later depending on postseason participation.
