About the role

This position involves operating a forklift for gathering cases of beef/pork product throughout a refrigerated warehouse with temperatures ranging from -10° to 30°F. The operator will pull down and put away pallets in the warehouse rack system using a hi-lift forklift, occasionally remove plastic wrap from pallets, and perform other duties as assigned by management.

Standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and reaching are involved. The role requires moving around the work area at a fast pace, bending, squatting, and lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 40 pounds. A handheld scanner will be used to track products as they are loaded, unloaded, and moved around the facility.

Responsibilities

• Operate a hi-lift forklift to gather, move, and store cases of beef/pork product in a refrigerated warehouse.
• Pull down and put away pallets in the warehouse rack system.
• Remove plastic wrap from pallets as needed.
• Use a handheld scanner to track product movement.
• Follow all Tyson Policies and Safety Guidelines.
• Cross-train and move to other areas as needed by management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must have 1 year of forklift and warehouse experience through a single employer in the last 5 years.
• Cold storage experience preferred.
• Must be willing to frequently lift, push, pull, or carry up to 70 lbs and occasionally up to 90 lbs.
• Full range of motion in arms, wrists, elbows, shoulders, neck, digits, and legs required.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods with a sense of balance.
• Must pass a post-offer health assessment and drug screening.
• Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Pay

Starting pay rate: $24.45/hr.

Schedule

D shift: Thursday, Friday, Saturday 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM and Wednesday 12:00 AM – 6:15 AM. Shift availability is determined by business need at the time of offer.
