Responsible for
- Efficiently operate all hides departments on the harvest floor.
- Perform daily safety walks to correct non-compliance issues.
- Help develop the management team of the Harvest Floor.
- Schedule Hides activities including start time, break time, chain speed, and employee rotation.
- Ensure all policies and the collective bargaining agreement are understood and enforced.
- Hear grievances at step 1 related to the Harvest Floor.
- Address any USDA regulatory issues.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of JBS policies and procedures.
- Communicate issues involving the harvest floor to all levels within the organization.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience working on harvest floor as a supervisor or general foreman.
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred but not required.
Skills/Abilities
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
- Demonstrate effective leadership skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Establish and maintain working relationships and collaborate effectively.
- Show analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Problem-solving abilities.
Physical Demands
- Work in hot temperatures and extended hours (including some weekends).
- Physically able to move around the harvest floor, maneuvering on and around uneven and slippery surfaces and tight spaces.
