Hi-Rail Railroad Technician

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all jobs/contracts assigned.
• Apply herbicides for weed, grass, and brush control across different railroad locations.
• Handle daily routing and scheduling tasks.
• Perform daily tank mixing of chemicals.
• Conduct truck inspections and manage the maintenance and repairs of the truck and spray system.
• Calibrate all spray equipment.
• Ensure all work is carried out in adherence to strict safety protocols.
• Maintain daily and weekly records.
• Serve as the primary point of contact with customers.
• Address customer and public complaints professionally.
• Report any potential liabilities immediately.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience: Must be 21+ years of age. A valid state drivers license with at least 5 years of clean driving history is required. Willingness to travel away from home for up to 4-6 weeks at a time (hotel expenses covered by DCS).
• Training: DeAngelo Contracting Services offers paid training to help employees succeed in their roles. Training areas include: Identifying various weeds, grass, and brush species; Understanding which chemicals control specific plant species; Safely operating application equipment; Learning different field application methods; Understanding how to properly maintain equipment.
