What You’ll Do
- Read and understand work instructions and blueprints
- Open, manipulate, and understand 3D computer models
- Inspect the quality of coolers, steel parts, fans, drive components (e.g., bearings, bushings, sheaves, and shafts). Use corrective tools to make repairs and adjustments as needed
- Locate and retrieve parts required for assembly
- Move cooling packages between work areas using motorized cranes
- Assemble and attach parts to the cooling package, following blueprint instructions and 3D models
- Document that the unit has been assembled according to AKG and industry standards
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Develop and maintain knowledge of parts used in the assembly of High Horsepower Units
- Report any issues to the supervisor or appropriate personnel promptly
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, and environmental management system (EMS) requirements set by AKG
What We’re Looking For
- To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is required; prior experience in final assembly is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Availability to work the agreed-upon shift.
- Experience with the following is a plus:
- Ability to use basic computer programs, including manipulating and interpreting 3D computer models.
- Ability to read and understand detailed blueprint instructions.
- Basic math skills and ability to use measuring tools.
- Excellent attention to detail.
Physical Demands
- Ability to walk (30%) and stand (70%) throughout the workday. May require bending, stooping, pulling, pushing, twisting, and turning.
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs. (20%) of the time.
- Ability to operate motorized cranes, ladders, scaffolding, power tools, and basic mechanical tools.
- Use of safety equipment, including steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, and bump caps. Safety glasses and bump caps are provided.
