About the role

Sinnissippi Centers is seeking a HFI Family Support Staff (FSS) to join our team. This position involves outreach, engagement, and enrollment of participants into the Healthy Families Illinois (HFI) program.

Responsibilities

  • Generate program referrals for recruitment when there are available openings on the caseload.
  • Attend occasional community resource and engagement events to share about the program and encourage engagement directly with families.
  • Complete the Family Resiliency and Opportunities for Growth (FROG) Scale to identify protective factors and risk factors.
  • Develop an individualized HFA Service Plan based on the FROG Scale results.
  • Review HFA Service Plans, developmental screens, family goals, and participant records to tailor home visit plans.
  • Establish a trusting relationship with families during home visits.
  • Assist in strengthening the parent-child relationship and improving caregiver skills.
  • Assist in increasing the family’s ability to problem-solve and advocate for themselves and their children.
  • Increase school readiness for focus children.
  • Identify and refer families for services in the communities they live in.
  • Plan and execute monthly/quarterly socialization events to promote caregiver skill development and parent-child interactions.
  • Engage in Reflective Supervision to reflect on and deepen work with families, acknowledging and addressing any implicit biases.
  • Prepare for and attend weekly team meetings to exchange and receive information on family and program trends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood, psychology, social work, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in working with or providing services to children and families.
  • Ability to establish trusting relationships.
  • Acceptance of individual differences.
  • Experience and humility to work with culturally diverse populations.
  • Knowledge of infant and child development.
  • Willingness to engage in building reflective capacity.
  • Infant mental health endorsement preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Program suite.
  • Comfort with technology including video conferencing, email, and data entry.
  • Capacity to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • High degree of organization and time management.
  • Valid driver’s license and insured, mileage is reimbursed.

Pay

$19.81 - $20.80 per hour (no bachelor's degree); $22.73 - $23.86 per hour (with bachelor's degree)
